Legend
This post office building in Kinshasa was realised by architect Gaston Boghemans between 1916 and 1918. It demonstrates how a traditional approach to architecture and design needed to be transformed to meet local requirements such as the tropical climate or the available building expertise. The post office building is one of the few colonial buildings that were demolished.
