Legend
This ink drawing, found in one of the small notebooks of Edouard Manduau, depicts a forge at the station in Leopoldville in 1884. We can make out an agent of the AIC, possibly Manduau himself. He was a lieutenant in the merchant navy and was appointed to assemble and repair maritime vessels in Leopoldville. He was assisted in this work by a European and two Africans.
