Legend
Léon Dardenne was interested in the headdresses of the wife of Sultan Molamba. He was also very interested in embellishments, such as the discs ornamenting the ears of the women in the Fifé region or the copper necklace and ivory rings worn by a sultana not far from Lukafu. Following the example of other members of the expedition, he began to collect these items enthusiastically. He was then in competition with the State as the most beautiful items collected during the expedition were in fact reserved for Congo Free State.
