Legend

Closed double-skinned tub-shaped drum with two hanging loops. The skin is tightened with tuning pegs that are pushed between the wooden sound box and the tuning belts. This drum is part of the chief’s regalia. According to the Teda tradition, only two tambol drums may be present in a village. When a new drum is made, an old one is destroyed. These drums are played during the initiation rite of young men.
