This plaited architecture housing a nkondi, formerly called a "nail fetish", was seen by Charles Callewaert in Lutete in 1883. The object is covered with a cloth. Its human form is pierced with several metal spikes. The "nkondi" or "nkisi" of the region, contemporary with this representation, are kept in the ethnographic collection of the RMCA.
