Legend
During the independence, Jean Bolikango, president of the Assoreco or "Alliance des Bangala", chairman of the "Parti de l'Unité Nationale" (PUNA) and of the "Front de l'Unité Bangala" (FUB), dreamed of becoming the first president of Congo. The ambitious politician had to acknowledge Joseph Kasa-Vubu as his political superior in 1960. In November 1965, he was superseded by Mobutu, like him coming from Equateur.
